“My goal ever since I heard those words ‘You have cancer’ was to get back on the Strictly dance floor. It has been such a challenge to come back, one that I dedicated 2024 to and that, along with my incredible team, we achieved. Something I wanted to do for myself and for my loved ones.

Amy went on to say “it wasn’t the same feeling dancing in the ballroom again with (her) Strictly family.”

She praised JB as a “talented, kind and gentle soul” and spoke fondly of their “thriving friendship,” thanking him for being “the perfect partner.”

Of her premature exit, she wrote: “I am so sad, so upset and I ask: ‘Why me, why now that our trip has been cut short?’ »

“To all the fans, to my loved ones, to my Strictly family, thank you,” she concluded, before wishing JB and Lauren good luck and vowing to be their “biggest cheerleader”.

Amy was flooded with supportive comments from her fellow Strictly pros, with replacement Lauren writing: “This too shall pass. We are still a team. I love you. You’ve done the groundwork, I’ll continue your partnership and hope you’ll be proud XXX’

“Maybe it’s because I’m the only Welsh professional dancer on the show.

“But yeah, that’s my goal for 2024, to be fit and healthy and get back on that dance floor strictly.”

Amy was on screen for the last time on Saturday evening where she declared herself, with JB and Lauren, the “dream team”.
