NBA Fans React to Zion Williamson Injury News Ahead of Pelicans vs. Cavaliers

The New Orleans Pelicans host the undefeated Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night at the Smoothie King Center. However, the Pelicans could be without their best player, Zion Williamson, who is listed as questionable due to a hamstring/quad injury. The two-time All-Star missed the last two home games due to hamstring soreness.

Facing the undefeated Cavaliers will be a challenge for New Orleans, who are riddled with injuries to some of their best players. Additionally, Williamson, Dejounte Murray, CJ McCollum, Herb Jones and Trey Murphy III are all out for extended periods due to different injuries.

Fans reacted strongly to the news that Williamson could play on Wednesday.

Via @supercarp123: “If you’re doubtful for more than a week, you’re hurt. Tell the fans the truth.”

Via @neworleansown89: “Dude y’all saw what happened to Aaron Gordon. Stop complaining, don’t rush into a hamstring or calf injury.”

Via @Joehelyusmah2: “Damn it”

Via @pfisher6: “Respectfully, and I say this in the most disrespectful way possible, we all want Zion traded”

NBA fans have a wide range of emotions regarding Williamson’s injury status. Last year, he played the most games of his NBA career, 70, although his chance to make his first playoff appearance was cut short after injuring his hamstring during the Play-In tournament against the Los Angeles Lakers.

He also saw his 2022-23 season end abruptly after playing in 29 games after injuring his hamstring against the Philadelphia 76ers. This will continue to be a hot topic until the star forward returns to the court and helps the Pelicans get back into the win column.
