San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke with reporters on a conference call Monday, providing updates on key injuries in the wake of the team’s 20-17 loss against the Seattle Seahawks.

Brock Purdy

Strategist Brock Purdy is suffering from right shoulder soreness after taking a hit during Sunday’s game. Shanahan didn’t seem too concerned, describing Purdy on a day-to-day basis as the team begins preparing for the Green Bay Packers.

Shanahan added that the pain came from a hit Purdy received during the game. However, the coach wasn’t sure when exactly that happened, adding that he didn’t think the injury had an impact on Purdy’s performance.

Nick Bosa

Defensive end Nick Bosa suffered a hip/oblique injury against the Seahawks. After the game, Shanahan clarified that the injury was not related to the one Bosa struggled with against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

“We’ll evaluate him throughout the week,” Shanahan said.

The coach said there was a chance Bosa could play Sunday against the Packers, saying, “We’ll see how it goes this week. There’s also a good chance he won’t play. But unless Whether it’s an injury that you I know he’s been knocked out, you can always rule that out earlier than expected But when it’s not, you don’t decide these things on Monday.

George Kittle

Tight end George Kittle missed Sunday’s game with a hamstring injury, but is expected to return to practice this week.

“I know it was close yesterday, so I think he should be good for practice on Wednesday,” Shanahan noted.

Trent Williams

Tackle Trent Williams reported soreness Monday after battling through Sunday’s game with an ankle injury.

“Just talking to him, the Toradol is wearing off and things like that, which is pretty painful, but we’ll see how he comes in on Wednesday,” Shanahan said, referring to the pain relief Williams was playing. “But I know he fought to play this game, and I really appreciate him getting through it and being out there, and we’ll see how he recovers here until Wednesday.”

Other injuries

Wide receiver Jacob Cowing is in the concussion protocol after suffering a head injury in the first half against the Seahawks.

Linebacker Tatum Béthune suffered a sprained MCL and will miss time.

Charvarius district

Cornerback Charvarius district rejoined the team after sitting out due to the tragic death of his daughter following the Week 8 game against the Dallas Cowboys.

“He was at our team meeting today,” Shanahan said. “He was at the game yesterday. He did some workouts here this weekend with Dustin Perry, our strength and conditioning coach, and we’ll see how this week goes with him.”

Dr. Greenlaw could train next week

Linebacker Dr. Greenlaw continues to recover from the torn Achilles he suffered in February during the Super Bowl. Shanahan confirmed that Greenlaw will not open his practice window this week.

“He’s doing his simulated practices by himself, without players, and hopefully we’ll have him back in practice next week,” Shanahan said.
