Actor Richard Geré sold his New Canaan, Conn., home for $10.75 million in preparation for moving to Spain.

Gere, 75, purchased the house in 2022 for $10.8 million. It once belonged to a couple Paul-Simon And Eddie Brickellwho bought the house for $16.5 million 17 years earlier.

THE Pretty woman the star resided in New Canaan with his wife, Alexandria Silva41 years old, for two years. The 1938 home sits on 32 acres of land and features six bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a swimming pool, several gardens and a three-bedroom guesthouse.

Gere and Silva married in 2018 and have lived in the United States ever since. In April, however, Gere spoke about the couple’s desire to move abroad to be closer to his wife’s family in Madrid.

“For Alejandra, it will be wonderful to be closer to her family, her lifelong friends and her culture,” he said. Vanity Fair Spain. “She was very generous in giving me six years to live in my world, so it’s only fair that I give her at least six more years to live in hers.”

The actor said living in Madrid would be a “great adventure” for him, his wife and their two children.

Gere and Silva attended the Zurich Film Festival in October, where they were photographed kissing on the green carpet.
