STRATHCONA, Minn. (Valley News Live) – A man is dead after an apparent house fire Monday in the town of Strathcona in Roseau County.

According to the Roseau County Sheriff’s Office, officers were dispatched to the home around 6:31 p.m. for fire and smoke damage inside the home. Only one victim was found and his body was taken to the Northern University Department of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy. The name has not yet been revealed.

The sheriff says there is no threat to the public. Lifecare Medical Center Ambulance and the Greenbush Fire Department responded to the scene alongside the Sheriff’s Office.

The case remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal.
