Hurricane relief worker slams FEMA for anti-Trump scandal

A hurricane relief worker criticized FEMA leadership for creating a culture of “fear” after agency workers were told to ignore homes with posted signs. Donald Trump during relief efforts following Hurricane Milton.

The daily feed reported Friday that government employees claimed at least 20 homes displaying Trump signs or flags were ignored during recusal efforts after Hurricane Milton hit Florida in late October.

An anonymous FEMA official asked FEMA Emergency responders are told to ignore homes with Trump signs while canvassing in Lake Placid, Florida. Following this report, FEMA announced that the unnamed official had been fired.

Adam Smithfounder of hurricane relief group Savage Operations, tasked with helping those affected by Hurricane Helen, told Fox News anchor Griff Jenkins he was not surprised by the scandal.

To say I was surprised would be a lie. I do not necessarily mean to demean or demonize all FEMA employees or workers.

I think there are many who have good hearts and want to help people. The question that leads me to is what sort of culture has been established so that, you know, the FEMA staff on the ground or the leadership, for that matter, can provide that kind of instruction to the staff in FEMA who wishes to provide assistance.

And more than that, you know, I also had an interaction with the local FEMA officials, and they wanted to help people, help people.

And what’s interesting is that it was stated that we can’t have our fingerprints on that, which I think brings us back to the real question, which is: what kind of culture and what What kind of fear does it exist? in place at some of the lower levels of FEMA staff where they are afraid of losing their jobs if they don’t speak out against actions that are clearly not aligned with what the organization is supposed to do.
