President Volodymyr Zelensky said this in an interview with Ukrainian radio, the Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“It is advantageous for him to sit down (at the negotiating table – editor’s note), but it is not advantageous for him to negotiate. It is advantageous for him to accept certain conditions of capitulation from us, but no one will allow him to do it,” Zelensky said.

He emphasized that Putin is not looking for peace at all, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t want to sit at the negotiating table with other leaders. “Why? Because for him it is about destroying the political isolation built since the start of the war. And it is beneficial for him to sit down to discuss but not to reach an agreement,” said the head of state.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Fox News recently reported that US President-elect Donald Trump plans to soon appoint a special representative who should lead negotiations on ending the Russian war in Ukraine from the American side.
