Dakota United posts three shutouts en route to CI Division title – Twin Cities

CI DIVISION

Dakota United 3, Burnsville/Farmington/Lakeville 0

Dakota United finally got the better of its regional rival on the big stage, edging Burnsville/Farmington/Lakeville in the title game Saturday at White Bear Lake Area High Scholl after losing the previous three state title games in succession against the Blazing Cats.

Burnsville/Farmington/Lakeville (8-2) won the regular season matchup between the two teams by a score of 2-1 in September

This is the Hawks’ third CI division championship, and first since 2012.

Dakota United’s defense deserves a lot of praise. The Hawks haven’t allowed a goal in three state tournament games after pitching just one shutout until this weekend.

Dakota United’s roster included: Aiden Alementi, Jacob Jackson, Henry Eisele, Malina Finch, Addison Smith, Ada Kramer, Makai Mejia, Myles Johnson, Oran Hill, Colin Price, Alex Capitani, Mustafa Adnan, Saksham Khulbe, Jacob Staats, Justice Parker, Ryan Errigo, Joshua Jackson and Greidin Corley.

The Hawks (9-1-1) are a cooperative made up of athletes from Eastview, Rosemount, Eagan, Apple Valley, Two Rivers, Hastings and FIT Academy Charter.
