Quick summary

Oppo has launched the Find X8 and Find X8 Pro in China. The new phones feature the Dimensity 9400 and come with some exciting camera features.

Oppo has confirmed that it will launch the Find X8 globally, but has not revealed when.

Oppo has promised a return to global markets for the Find X – its flagship phone – but the phone has now officially launched in China. This gives us our first look at what to expect, with the company revealing specifications for the Oppo Find X8 and Find X8 Pro.

Both models are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400, using the latest challenger to Qualcomm’s all-new processor. Hardware Snapdragon 8 Elite this has just been announced. Rumor suggests there could be a Snapdragon processor Find X8 Ultra in the future, but we will wait for confirmation on this.

Aside from the shared processor – which should give both models top-notch performance – these phones have a similar design, but are different in most other areas. The Oppo Find X8 Pro has a 6.78-inch display with a resolution of 2780 x 1264 pixels, while the smaller Find .

Both displays are OLED and will offer refresh rates of up to 120Hz, while claiming a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, although it’s said you’ll get 1,200 nits in normal use.

The camera on the back is also slightly different: the Oppo Find X8 Pro has a quad-camera system consisting of four 50-megapixel cameras while the standard Find these cameras are not all the same.

The ultra-wide and portrait cameras are the same, but the main camera is slightly different, with the Find X8 Pro offering an af/1.6 lens compared to the Find X8’s f/1.8, so we suspect that It is presented as a superior quality lens. The other big difference between the two camera systems is that the Find X8 Pro has an additional telephoto lens offering 6x optical zoom, which is probably what will convince you to buy the Pro phone.

The battery is slightly different as these phones are a slightly different size, but both phones support 80W charging.

Oppo returns to global markets

Oppo Find X8 models will launch with Android 15 and ColorOS 15which was previewed recently, giving a glimpse of some features that appear to have been influenced by iOS 18.

Oppo had already highlighted the importance of AI and there will be a lot of things in this phone, cleaning photos, summarizing your notes, etc.

But Oppo also talks about the camera system, designed to be fast, as well as the Hasselblad partnership to give you stylish portraits. An interesting detail of the camera is that it uses an “inverted periscope” (for the 6x optical zoom), designed to make the lens even thinner and reduce the size of the camera bulge on the back of the phone.

What we don’t know is exactly when the phone will launch globally. Although it has been confirmed as a global device, we do not know when we will see it in 2025. It could be that Oppo takes advantage of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona to launch this phone, in which case we may wait until in March before seeing him.
