‘Belltown Hellcat’ $50,000 Bail Upheld by Renton Judge After Arrest

RENTON, Washington.Miles Hudsonwidely known as “Belltown Hellcat“, appeared in Renton Municipal Court Wednesday afternoon after his arrest Tuesday evening.

Hudson, facing $50,000 bailis being held in the Southern Correctional Entity (SCORE) prison after missing several court dates in Renton on charges related to domestic violence against his mother.

The 21-year-old, who gained notoriety for driving his noisy Dodge Charger through the streets of Seattle at speeds in excess of 100 mph and for his long list of legal troubles, was arrested by Renton police in the parking lot at his home. apartment complex Tuesday.

According to Renton police spokesperson Meeghan Black, Hudson was notified of the officers’ arrival and was attempting to leave his apartment when he was arrested without incident.

During Wednesday’s hearing, Hudson appeared via Zoom from the SCORE jail, wearing a prison jumpsuit and looking down, with only the top of his head visible to the judge and the courtroom. His lawyer, Heather Villani of Valley Defenders, said Hudson’s case was overblown, saying, “He was arrested because everyone thinks it’s a murder case.” »

Despite the defense’s argument, the court upheld Hudson’s $50,000 bond and reaffirmed that he must comply with conditions previously set by the court.

The court scheduled Hudson’s next appearance, an evidentiary hearing, for November, which he is allowed to attend via Zoom.

Hudson’s latest arrest stems from two arrest warrants issued by Renton Municipal Court – one in August and another earlier this month. The two warrants, totaling $50,000, were issued after Hudson failed to show up for scheduled hearings regarding domestic violence charges involving his mother.

In addition to criminal charges of domestic violence in Renton, Hudson’s recent legal history has been marked by allegations of reckless driving, revenge porn and stalking in Seattle, all aggravated by its previous violations of house arrest.

Hudson’s high-profile cases attracted public attention due to his several arrestsfrequent absences from court and ongoing legal battles. Further updates on Hudson’s cases are expected as he faces upcoming hearings in Renton and Seattle Municipal Court.

Hudson is scheduled to hold further hearings later this month, during which the court will review his compliance with bail conditions and outstanding charges.
