CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Temperatures are dropping tonight and continuing to drop Monday.

Warmer than average tonight

Temperatures tonight fall into the low to mid 30s under mostly cloudy skies, about 10 degrees above average for this time of year. A stray spray or burst is possible, but most areas remain dry. Patchy fog is possible late.

Your first alert: the cold front arrives Monday

Any fog clears early Monday morning as temperatures remain steady in the upper 30s to low 40s during the morning and afternoon hours. A spray or burst is possible in the morning, but most places remain dry. Skies become mostly clear Monday evening as temperatures dip into the upper teens and lower 20s.

Your first alert: cold next week, watch for a storm system

Temperatures remain cold during Thanksgiving week, with highs in the 30s through Thanksgiving and lows in the 20s. After Thanksgiving, another burst of cold air arrives and our temperatures drop even further, in the 20s for maximum temperatures and close to 10% for minimum temperatures.

We are also seeing a storm system expected to move across the United States mid-week. Depending on which direction the storm goes, we could see some snow falling in Iowa just before Thanksgiving.
