EAST AURORA, N.Y. (WKBW) — Thorpe’s Organic Family Farm has many animals on the 80-acre property, but they never thought they would lose seven 1,000-pound black Angus beef cattle worth a total of 20 000 $.

“One of them disappears, it could happen, but as much as it seems really strange,” Jeremiah Thorpe said.

They believe they disappeared on October 30. Thorpe noticed that he had gone to feed them and that there was a little extra space.

They are supposed to have 50 in the area pictured above. It’s not unusual for an animal to get loose, but Thorpe tells me it’s unusual to lose one.

“We just can’t figure out what could have happened. A neighbor will always call. Maybe they’re just out there somewhere and we just haven’t found them,” Thorpe said.

Could they have been stolen?

“We hesitate to say it, but it’s possible, it could have happened. It wouldn’t be easy to charge them. Having a foreigner come and charge them wouldn’t be easy, but it could be done. We don’t know. ” Thorpe said.

He says if they can’t be found, it could really hurt their bottom line. They all have yellow tags on their ears, the black and red ones are missing.
