Ten people stabbed in Seattle’s Chinatown

A investigation is underway after five people were stabbed Seattle China-International District Friday afternoon. The authorities speak of an event which caused numerous victims.

Seattle police arrested a man aged 30 to 40 in connection with the five stabbings. He is also suspected of several other similar stabbings that occurred in the area on Thursday.

Authorities say the incident happened at 2 p.m. near the corner of 10th Ave. S and S Jackson St., about two blocks south of Bailey Gatzert Elementary School.

It was reported that four men showed up to Harborview Medical Center with stab wounds. All are listed in critical condition. The fifth stabbing victim was treated and released on scene.

According to Seattle police, officers found the suspect after witnesses described him and arrested him without incident. A weapon was found at the scene, and a knife was still stuck in one of the victims.

Detectives are working to identify the suspect. He will be booked into the King County Jail for investigation of an assault.

The circumstances leading to these stabbing attacks are not known at this time.

Authorities say the incident happened near the corner of 12th Avenue S and S Jackson Street, about two blocks south of Bailey Gatzert Elementary School. FOX 13 has reached out to the Seattle Police Department for more details and is awaiting additional information. The circumstances leading to these stabbing attacks are not known at this time. This Friday incident comes after three separate stabbing attacks were reported in the same neighborhood in less than 24 hours.

Seattle police are investigating whether the suspect is involved in five other stabbings in the same neighborhood over the past 36 hours:

Woman stabbed 8 times

Around 1:30 a.m. Thursday, officers responded to a stabbing near 12th Avenue S and S King Street.

When they arrived, they found a 52 year old woman stabbed eight times. She was transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.

No suspects have been located.

Man hospitalized after stabbing

On Thursday, around 12:15 p.m., officers responded to the area of ​​8th Avenue South and South Jackson Street for a report of a stabbing.

Police found a 32-year-old man with multiple stab wounds. He was treated at the scene and then taken to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.

The suspect was described as a black man wearing a plaid hoodie, last seen heading east on S King Street. After a search, the police did not find the suspect.

It’s unclear what led to the stabbing.

Suspect in custody after stabbing

A 37-year-old man was stabbed multiple times in the back around 8 p.m. Thursday near 8th Avenue South and South Jackson Street.

He was transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.

Police arrested a 34-year-old man near an abandoned building between 10th and Jackson. SPD said the suspect was armed with a knife, which was seized as evidence.

According to investigators, the suspect was also the subject of a $7,075 arrest warrant for possession of a stolen vehicle. He was booked into the King County Jail for his term.

The suspect’s involvement in the stabbing remains under investigation.

Man injured in attempted robbery

Officers responded to an assault reported at 8:39 p.m. Thursday near South King Street and 8th Avenue South, under the I-5 overpass.

According to SPD, a 60-year-old man was in his vehicle when another man forced open the driver’s side door and attempted to stab him in the chest.

Police said the victim blocked the attack but suffered a laceration to his hand. He was taken to Harborview for further medical treatment.

The victim’s cell phone was stolen during the robbery. Despite a K9 and helicopter search, the suspect was not located.

Man stabbed in the neck

Around 1 a.m. Friday, officers received reports of an assault near 12th Avenue South and South Jackson Street.

A man was found bleeding profusely from a neck injury. He received aid on scene and was transported to Harborview in serious condition.

Police followed a blood trail to a door northwest of where the victim was found, but the suspect was not located.
