Retirees have several convenient options for submitting their life certificates. Here is a detailed guide based on three methods available;

1. In-Person Submission

Retirees can visit their:

-Pension disbursement bank

-Post Office

-Other centers designated by the government

-Submission via pension payment offices

Some pension disbursement offices, such as district treasuries, also accept life certificates directly. Contact your pension fund to check if this option is available.

For retirees with mobility or health issues, many public sector banks offer home banking services.

• Various Citizen Service Centers (CSC) located across India
• Pensioners can visit the Jeevan Pramaan portal and generate and submit their life certificate using fingerprints using a fingerprint scanner.
• They can also download the Jeevan Pramaan mobile app and provide their life certificate through the app.
• Office of Pension Paying Agencies (PDAs) such as Post Office, Banks, Treasury, etc.
• It can also be generated from home/any place on laptop/mobile.Aadhaar or VID number is essential to generate/obtain the digital life certificate.
• Pensioners can also access ‘Doorstep Banking’, available in a few public sector banks across the country. This service is available for people aged over 70 or those with reduced mobility to help them present their certificates.
• Pensioners can also use facial authentication technology to submit their certificates using an Android smartphone. For this, they need to download the Aadhaar Face RD app from the Google Play Store and the Jeevan Pramaan app.
• Life certificates can also be submitted through the India Post Payments Bank’s ‘Doorstep Service for Submission of Digital Life Certificate by Postman’ initiative. This service can be used by downloading the “Postinfo APP” from the Google Play Store.

Once the life certificate is submitted, it is automatically uploaded to the database and the retiree’s pension is credited without delay.
