NASCAR starting lineup: Complete qualifying results for 2024 Cup Series drivers

The Valley of the Sun hosts the final race on the Cup Series schedule. For four of NASCAR’s biggest talents, the Coliseum could prove particularly memorable.

Joey Logano, Tyler Reddick. Ryan Blaney and William Byron are all competing for the biggest prize in American stock car racing, the Cup Series championship. All four enter Sunday’s race in fine form, with Logano, Reddick and Blaney all capturing checkered flags in the round of 16 and Byron showing impressive courage to hold off Christopher Bell on the final lap at Martinsville.

Phoenix Raceway is no picnic. It’s rife with uncertainty, a low-banked one-mile tri-oval that can be swept up in chaos when jockeys are particularly aggressive.

Position reigns supreme in “The Desert Oddball.” Given the stakes associated with Sunday’s contest, this could prove particularly notable. There’s no better way to improve your chances than by putting in an impressive qualifying run.

With that, here’s what you need to know about the pole winner and starting lineup or Sunday’s race at Phoenix, the Cup Series championship.

Who won the NASCAR Cup Series championship pole for 2024?

Martin Truex Jr. won the pole at Phoenix, continuing his impressive form in qualifying races during his career. The Joe Gibbs Racing star driver recorded his 26th career pole Saturday afternoon. This could very well be his last; Truex is retiring from full-time racing at the end of the season.

Truex, 44, will be joined in the front row by Logano, who enters Sunday’s race as the highest-ranked qualifier among the Championship 4 runners. He is followed by Byron (P8), Reddick (P10) and Blaney ( P17). Logano is known for his Cup Series championship prowess in even-numbered years; he has won two titles so far, both from evenly matched campaigns (2018, 2022). Could he add another trophy to his collection in 2024? He looks well placed to do so after qualifying.
