Arkansas State Police Special Agents Make Georgia Arrest Related to Interstate 630 Shooting

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Arkansas State Police say they have made an arrest in connection with a shooting on Interstate 630 earlier this month.

According to authorities, special agents with the ASP Criminal Investigation Division traveled to Dublin, Georgia, on Monday and worked with Georgia authorities to arrest Alvertis Murry, 52, of North Little Rock, in connection with the shooting.

Investigators said Murry was driving on I-630 near the Woodrow Street exit on Oct. 11 around 10:20 a.m. when he allegedly fired several shots at another vehicle and hit the driver in the arm. Authorities said the victim was treated at a local hospital.

ASP officials said Murry was transported to the Pulaski County Detention Center and faces a charge of first-degree battery and a charge of criminal possession of a firearm by certain persons . Police said he was being held on $200,000 bail.
