A Surprise Inheritance Comes With Danger in ‘All I’ll Give You’

For over a decade, Manuel Ortega (David Kammenos) has led an almost perfect life in Paris: his career as a writer has brought him fame and fortune, while his marriage to Aymeric (Alexis Loret) seems perfect. Then Manuel is awakened by the police with the news that his partner is dead, killed in a car accident in the French countryside. Which makes no sense, because he was supposed to be on a business trip to Brussels, hundreds of miles away.
It turns out that Aymeric was a man of many secrets. Most importantly, he was actually Aymeric Fabre de Castelmore, the son of a wealthy marquis who had secretly inherited his family’s impressive estate and businesses. The reason he kept this a secret isn’t hard to understand: his family is a collection of snobs and freaks, people so homophobic that Aymeric never let them know he was gay, much less he was married. He knew they would never accept her husband and rather than let Ortega endure their bile, he cut them (and his estate) from his life.
One of the most satisfying moments of this series comes early, when – after enduring their almost comical, over-the-top contempt for Ortega – the reading of the will reveals that the rest of the family has been kicked out and Ortega gets All. , including the family Provençal wine estate. It’s not so much a slap to the rest of the family as a kick in the groin, particularly to Aymeric’s chilly mother (Nicole Calfan) and younger brother Joffrey (Aurelien Wiik), who were all ready to move into the house. best work until Ortega arrived on the scene.
Their reaction – and who they are in general – is more than enough to convince Ortega that he wants nothing to do with them or the (extremely impressive) estate. But Aymeric was not an idiot and he saw it coming: Ortega must spend three months in charge before he can rid himself of his inheritance.

So we have a wealthy estate, a powerful family that is driven almost entirely by plots and intrigue, and a mysterious (to them) stranger who threatens to overthrow everything. It’s a story that walks a fine line between Shakespearean drama and classic soap opera; All this I will give to you (based on the bestselling novel by Dolores Redondo) makes it work confidently on both levels.

As heroes go, poor grieving Ortega is moving enough, especially as the series progresses and her grief is gradually replaced by an unwavering desire to get to the bottom of her husband’s death. Many obstacles stand in his way – homophobia seems to be a way of life for many locals – but he’s not one to be deterred so easily.

More importantly, Joffrey and his mother are so relentlessly and ruthlessly evil that even the slightest chance of them getting their richly deserved comeuppance is more than enough to make this must-watch. Did she name him Joffrey because she wanted him to grow up to be spoiled and mean? You wouldn’t let him get through this.
And just in case you’re inclined to forgive them for being upset about being left out of the will, it turns out not everyone believes Aymeric’s death was an accident. In fact, many people don’t believe him, but his family is so powerful that they have suspended any investigation into his death, much to the dismay of the town coroner (Sophie Cattani) and grumpy detective Richard Saugier (Bruno Solo). ).
He would like to solve one last big case before retiring, so he is leading a (extremely illegal) private investigation based on what little evidence was discovered before the case was forcibly closed. He’s out on his own, but now there’s another person in town who wants to find out the truth: Manuel Ortega. And with the revelation that Aymeric had a little brother who also died under mysterious circumstances, the situation begins to become much more complicated.
As the investigation continues, Ortega is confronted with more and more of the hidden sides of the man he loves. Aymeric might have hidden his family out of love, but their scheming blood still flowed through his veins. Was his death a takeover of power within his family? Was this revenge for something he had done years ago? And if it was a murder, has the killer finished his murderous work or has he only just begun?
