Fort Bend ISD elementary staff members under investigation

Three Fort Bend Independent School District staff members are reportedly on administrative leave as the school district while the district investigates allegations of misconduct.

Fort Bend ISD parents are concerned after a principal’s email announcing the unexpected suspension of a staff member. Now they demand to know why.

“We deserve transparency. We deserve to know. Our children deserve to be safe at school,” said Susan Barrientos, a parent of Fort Bend ISD students.

The email sent Tuesday mentions inappropriate conduct by a staff member at Quail Valley Elementary School. The district said it immediately launched an investigation and the staff member was placed on administrative leave pending the results of the investigation. This staff member has since resigned from Fort Bend ISD.

“I tried to respond and ask some questions, but it was a blocked email,” Barrientos said.

Barrientos is concerned about the situation at Quail Valley Elementary School. Her youngest child is a student there.

“It’s not that parents want to know the names of those involved. We’re not trying to be nosy. We just need to be reassured that the district is doing everything it can, even in this situation,” Barrientos said.

In a statement, Fort Bend ISD repeated what it said stating that “allegations of inappropriate conduct by a staff member at Quail Valley Elementary School were immediately investigated by the district and the staff member was placed under administrative leave. The staff member has since resigned from Fort Bend ISD.”

But this is not the only incident under investigation. The statement went on to say that “allegations of inappropriate conduct by staff members at Colony Bend and Goodman elementary schools continue to be fully investigated by the district; further information cannot be provided.” not be shared at this time.”

The district has not confirmed the status of staff members at those schools. `

“The district needs to understand where we’re coming from. We’re parents and we also pay taxes to our school district. So we should know that,” Barrientos said.

FOX 26 News will continue to ask for details about the allegations at elementary schools.
