Longtime WWE Announcer Samantha Irvin revealed why she left the company.

Last week, Irvin shocked the wrestling world by announcing that she would pursue other opportunities outside of WWE.

“WWE Universe, my tenure as Monday Night Raw Ring announcer is over,” Irvin said on Instagram. “I love you all very much and this does not mark the end of my art, I still have a life to share. Thank you to all the WWE fans who accepted me.

While responding to fans on social media, Irvin revealed that she left WWE because she didn’t like announcing it and wanted to take a bigger role in the company.

“I don’t like announcing,” she wrote. “I’m serious! Announcing was only supposed to be a gateway. I wanted to manage, maybe even become general manager one day. But WWE didn’t see any other future for me than as an announcer .I like watching the action but I don’t like being a presenter.

Irvin then thanked the fans who supported his decision.

“Thank you so much, I love WWE and I’m so proud and honored to have been able to share all these moments with other fans with a lot of love! Also, they wanted Rico to stay in the big leagues. I don’t don’t know why everyone claims he still has good positions in WWE.

It will be interesting to see if Irvin signs with AEW in the coming weeks after leaving WWE.
