2024 Election Updates: Georgia’s Top Election Official Warns of Fake Online Video

Vice President Kamala Harris vowed that “nothing in the world” would stop her from fighting for Americans during a speech Tuesday in Reno, Nevada.

She referenced her experience as a prosecutor in the neighboring state of California, saying, “A lot of people here know that I’m not afraid of tough fights.”

“And I promise you, if you give me the chance to fight on your behalf as president, nothing in the world will stop me from fighting for you,” Harris added. “For the people.”

At her first general election rally in northern Nevada, she also criticized former President Donald Trump’s comments about protecting women.

“He said, on the issue of freedom of choice, reproductive freedom, he said he would do what he wanted because, quote, he — this is his view — he will do it ‘whether women like it or not,’ “whether women like it or not,” Harris said. “Can you imagine?”

“He doesn’t believe women should have authority or power over their own bodies. This is the same person who said women should be punished for their choices,” she said, echoing remarks she made at campaign stops throughout the day. He is someone who simply does not respect the freedom of women, nor the intelligence of women to make decisions about their own lives.

She closed the rally with a phrase she has used in recent days, telling the crowd that “in less than 90 days, he or I will be sitting in the Oval Office,” explaining that while Trump would enter that office room with a list of enemies, she’s ready to go in with a to-do list.

Although Harris’ remarks were repeatedly interrupted by protesters, she addressed them, saying, “We are here because we are fighting for a democracy.” »

She said it was “right” for them to protest at the event because “we are fighting for the right to be heard and not be imprisoned for expressing our opinion.”

“We know what is at stake,” Harris assured.
