Shortly after co-founder Scott Farquhar left Atlassian at the end of August, chief executive Mike Cannon-Brookes was in Boston meeting with investors to convince them that the Australian software giant could attract more big clients to revive the declining revenue growth.

In particular, investors who met Mr. Cannon-BrookesMartin Lam, head of investor relations at Atlassian, and David Hynes, an analyst at Canaccord Genuity, wanted to know how many enterprise sales reps the company was adding and who would lead them.
