Back-to-back UConn men’s basketball champions prepare for tough schedule

STORRS, CT (WFSB) – It’s been a few easy wins for back-to-back UConn men’s basketball champions.

They started slow against Sacred Heart and New Hampshire, but once they found their momentum, they made things look easy.

The team lost four players to the NBA and added six new men.

They are ranked number three in the country.

The UConn men have big games coming up against Baylor, Texas and Gonzaga.

The Huskies know what they’re going to get from All-American Alex Karaban. They also have Hassan Diarra bringing in veteran leaders.

But the team is trying to figure out how to keep center Sampson Johnson in the game.

After two seasons as a backup, Johnson is now a starter, but he is having trouble.

This year’s freshmen are doing well, but their inexperience still shows. Coach Hurley doesn’t give his players any respite.

Fans expect these Huskies to win every game and blow their opponents out of the water.

The Huskies face Le Moyne on Wednesday night. Le Moyne is new to the division, but they look ready. They played Syracuse and only lost by two points.
