Washington Commanders looking to trade last remaining Ron Rivera 1st Rd. Take

THE Washington Commanders Many people are hoping to see them make a move before the NFL trade deadline on Tuesday.

Most are looking for Commanders to add a player or two and have in mind a position group where they would specifically like to see general manager Adam Peters and head coach Dan Quinn make an addition.

THE Washington The secondary is widely considered the most talent-deficient group on the roster, leading to many calls for the team to trade for a number of cornerbacks – the specific group many consider to be the weakest link. weaker.

We know that Peters and his team are constantly looking for opportunities to improve the roster, not to blame current members but out of an intentional desire to be competitive 24/7.

This desire to be competitive led to the departure of several players who didn’t necessarily fit that mold, including several first-round picks taken before the arrival of Peters and Quinn. And according to Josina Anderson’s report Monday night, another one — the finale of Ron Rivera’s draft classes — could be on the way.

“I’m told the Commanders recently evaluated potential interest in 2023 first-round cornerback Emmanuel Forbes Jr. on the trade market,” Anderson sent a tweetciting anonymous sources for the report.

It’s no surprise that the team is looking to gauge interest in the cornerback who has appeared on just over 100 snaps this season and played none in the Week 9 win over the Giants. New York.

Speculation that Forbes might be on his way out has been constant since the offseason and reached an all-time high during training camp when the second-year corner seemed to struggle quite often during open practices.

However, the team began the season with Forbes lined up opposite Benjamin St-Juste who has since been paired with rookie Mike Sainristil after the Commanders defense gave Noah Igbinoghene and Michael Davis the opportunity to also get the position.

The deadline for teams to accept trades is Tuesday, November 5 at 4 p.m. ET.
