Stones pelted at Vande Bharat with Bhim Army chief on board, window damaged

Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) MP and Bhim Army chief Chandra Shekhar Azad on Sunday alleged that stones were thrown at a Vande Bharat Express train early this morning, damaging a window in which it was traveling.

Azad said the incident took place around 7:12 am after the train passed Kamalpur station in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district.

Sharing the occurrence of the event, the Nagina MP said in a post on X, “This morning I was traveling from Delhi to Kanpur by Vande Bharat train. As soon as the train passed through Kamalpur station in Bulandshahr district around 7:12 am, an anti-social element pelted stones from outside, due to which the window near the passenger sitting two seats ahead of me was broken.”

He also expressed concern over damage to public property and passenger safety, calling such actions “unacceptable and intolerable.” “I was shocked and stunned by this incident. This incident not only caused damage to government properties but also raised questions about the safety of passengers. Such incidents are reprehensible and cannot be accepted at any cost,” he said.

Stone pelting damages railway property: Azad

Noting a total of 1,503 incidents in 2022, which resulted in a loss of millions of dollars to the railways, he added: “This figure begs the question why such incidents are happening again and again. Stone throwing on trains not only causes property damage, but can also be fatal for passengers. »

He further added that people need to understand that railways are a valuable asset of the country and it is the responsibility of all citizens to protect them. “Such acts in society not only create a sense of insecurity but also harm the image of our country,” Azad said.

Azad further asked the Union Railway Minister, railway police and administration to take strict action and create awareness among the society. “My request is that it is necessary for parents and school teachers to sensitize children on this subject. This will not only reduce such incidents but also ensure the safety of railway passengers,” Azad said.

“This country is ours, and protecting the country’s assets is not only the moral responsibility and fundamental constitutional duty of the government, but of all of us,” he said.
