Responding to a call notice from Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) MP Arjun Chautala, the health minister said as many as 1.13 lakh dengue tests were conducted in the state till November 11, 2024.

The INLD lawmaker said the number of dengue cases was higher than announced by the health minister. “Why is the government not informing the House about dengue cases recorded by private hospitals? The realities on the ground are contrary to what the Minister of Health says. Some dengue case figures cited by the minister are incorrect,” said the INLD MP.

The health minister, however, said, “It is mandatory for private hospitals to provide accurate data on dengue cases. Our data is up to date. If any hospital, whether government or private, neglects to report correct data on dengue, strict action will be taken. »

Congress MP Ashok Arora said dengue cases were increasing across the state.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini assured the House that the health department was fully prepared for the prevention and control of dengue in the state and fogging was being carried out once a week. He said that due to climate change, instructions have been issued to accelerate fog formation across the state.

Saini said the government would never hide any data regarding this issue. “Necessary arrangements to control dengue are in place and fogging is being carried out regularly every week…,” Saini said, adding that instructions have been issued to intensify fogging in every town, locality and even in villages by through panchayats.

Meanwhile, in a written response, the Health Minister said the ministry was taking all necessary measures to prevent dengue. The minister said as many as 196 wards and 1,022 beds were reserved for dengue patients in government hospitals. She said that platelets are provided free of cost to dengue patients from Haryana admitted in government hospitals.
