Syracuse holds off Colgate to improve to 2-0 (full coverage)

The Syracuse men’s basketball team is off to a 2-0 start, but it certainly doesn’t look pretty.

For a second straight game, the Orange survived a scare and held on to earn the victory, beating Colgate 74-72 Tuesday night at the JMA Wireless Dome.

Cuse missed three straight face-offs late in the game to give the Raiders the ball with 5.2 seconds left, but Nicolas Louis-Jacques slipped and fell as time expired.

Eddie Lampkin led the way for Syracuse, scoring 15 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Chris Bell scored 14 points, all in the second half. JJ Starling added 12 points, while Jyare Davis and Elijah Moore scored eight points each.
