MSU student received a new backpack from a campus police officer after his own went missing

MOREHEAD, Ky.FOX 56) — When you think of someone giving you a gift, a police officer probably isn’t the first person that comes to mind, but that’s exactly what happened Thursday for a student at Morehead State University found itself in need of a backpack after its own went missing.

The Morehead State University (MSU) Police Department wrote on Facebook that an international student told officers Thursday that her backpack was missing from her residence hall laundry room.

“She was very upset and said she didn’t know what she would do without a backpack because she was in a nursing program,” MSU law enforcement posted on Facebook.

A police officer allegedly paid for a replacement backpack with his own money and gave it to him.

“While this gesture seems small in the grand scheme of things, our student was extremely grateful that someone would reach out to help with her needs,” the department wrote.

MSU Police said the department is pleased to have officers who demonstrate genuine kindness and selflessness toward our MSU students.
