ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) – Variably cloudy and mostly cloudy conditions continue. Dry Wednesday then return of scattered showers on Thursday. Expect variable precipitation amounts near and below an inch. As a cold front slides through Friday into the weekend, it will be drier and much cooler. Lows drop from the 50s to the 40s while highs cool into the 60s to around 70°. The fall chill eases early in the week as highs rise above average to the mid-70s.

In the tropics, Invest 99L in the Caribbean has a 90% chance of developing over the next 7 days. The environment is favorable for strengthening with a tropical depression or storm likely in the coming days. Forecast models agree on a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico next week with potential impacts on the Florida peninsula. Hurricane season ends on November 30.
