Govinda’s Son Updates Fans About Actor’s Recovery After Accident: Stitches Are Removed

Actor Govinda’s son Yashvardhan Ahuja updated the actor’s fans about his health condition. The 60-year-old accidentally shot himself in the leg and was advised to stay in bed after being released from hospital. Yashvardhan said that his father is better now and even joked that he will start dancing soon.

Yashvardhan, pictured outside a Diwali party in Mumbai, told the paparazzi that Govinda’s stitches had been removed. As they inquired further about his father’s health, he replied, “Badiya, badiya. Much better hai, stitches nikal gaye hai, koi tension nahi hai (He’s fine, he’s fine. He’s much better now, the stitches have been removed so there’s no strain).”

On a lighter note, he added: “He’ll start dancing in a few weeks.”

Earlier this month, Govinda was hospitalized in Mumbai after accidentally shooting himself in the leg with his licensed revolver. The bullet was removed and the actor was advised six weeks of bed rest.

Returning from the hospital, the Hero No. 1 actor spoke to the media and shared what happened. “Thoda gehra lag gaya tha, laga tab vishwas nahi hua, aisa laga ye kya ho gaya (The wound is quite deep. It was quite shocking.) I was leaving for a show in Kolkata around 4:45-5 am. At that moment my gun fell and fired. I felt a jolt and saw blood coming out.

When a reporter asked Govinda why he kept a gun with him, the actor said, “Fame is a flame. You must be aware of the flame that surrounds you. When you become famous, you have to be careful, because although many people love you, some people are also jealous. Jealousy is good, but it hurts when someone becomes competitive.

The 90s superstar, best known for his comic roles and dance numbers, made his political comeback earlier this year in March and joined Shiv Sena’s Eknath Shinde faction.
