THE Tennessee Titans earned their second win of the season with a 20-17 overtime win over the New England Patriots.

Patriots quarterback Drake Maye threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Rhamondre Stevenson as time expired to send the game into overtime. Nick Folk kicked a 25-yard field goal in overtime after the Titans took the ball on the first possession, and Amani Hooker intercepted Maye to end the game.

Tony Pollard finished with 128 rushing yards on 28 carries to lead the Titans offense.

Follow live updates from the Tennessean Titans game below:

Drake Maye’s telegraphed deep ball is easily intercepted by Amani Hooker, and it’s the ball game.

The Titans improve to 2-6.

Backup center Corey Levin and Mason Rudolph have instant trouble (not the first today since Cushenberry was out), and while Rudolph was getting the ball, the Titans would punt. Nick Folk’s 25-yard field goal is good.

New England now takes possession.

Mason Rudolph stands in the pocket and finds Calvin Ridley between two defenders for a first down at the New England 31-yard line. Rudolph and Ridley were hit. A game on a large scale.

The Titans will receive the ball in OT. TD wins the game.

Drake Maye has plenty of time to throw, until he doesn’t, and he finds Rhamondre Stevenson for the TD with no time left in regulation.

Joey Slye’s PAT is just inside the right upright. OT!

Drake Maye to Hunter Henry to set up first and goal. The Patriots throw the ball. Eight seconds left, with Tennessee leading 17-10. No timeouts remaining for New England.

Drake Maye rushes to the Titans 23-yard line for a first down. The clock stops at 40 seconds as Jeffery Simmons remains on the ground. Titans staff looking at the back of his right leg.

Patriots PR Marcus Jones brings Ryan Stonehouse’s punt to midfield on a 25-yard return. It’s time for the Titans defense to play a rookie QB.

The Titans go for three and will punt from their own 17 yard line on 4th and 7 with two minutes left. Can the Titans’ punt unit take a free kick and not allow a return?

On 3rd and goal, Mason Rudolph found Nick Westbrook-Ikhine for a 6-yard touchdown pass. The Titans take a 17-10 lead. NWI played a key role for the Titans’ offense in the red zone last month.

The Titans offense was in excellent field position after the turnover midway through the fourth quarter.

A Tony Pollard TD run was called back for a holding penalty on Josh Whyle, and on 4th and goal from the Patriots’ 3-yard line, Brian Callahan went for a short Nick Folk field goal to tie the game.

Aided by three Titans defensive penalties, the Patriots used nearly half of the third quarter to take the lead. Rhamondre Stevenson caps it all off with a 1-yard touchdown run. PAT good.

Titans Stats

  • Mason Rudolph: 9-19, 117 yards, TD, INT; 2 races, 15 meters
  • Tony Pollard: 10 carries, 69 yards; 1 catch, 9 yards
  • Calvin Ridley: 2 catches, 37 yards
  • Nick Vannett: 2 catches, 33 yards, TD

Patriots statistics

  • Drake Maye: 12-15, 82 yards, INT; 2 carries for 39 yards
  • Rhamondre Stevenson: 6 carries, 7 yards; 2 catches, 16 yards
  • Kendrick Bourne: 3 catches, 34 yards

The Titans move into the scoring zone after a Calvin Ridley catch, then move back and out of the scoring zone after a holding penalty and a delay of game penalty. The half ends with two throws from Mason Rudolph into the stands. Ugly, ugly football.

Quandre Diggs will not return due to a foot injury, the Titans announce. Tough defeat for the Tennessee secondary.

A Drake Maye scramble in Titans territory put New England in goal territory, although a penalty and a Jack Gibbens TFL stopped the drive.

Joey Slye’s 52-yard field goal is good and New England is in the picture.

Quandre Diggs is ejected from the bench after leaving the game in the second quarter. He first went to the blue tent but was evacuated after a few minutes. No word on injury or Titans designation.

A third-and-goal pass goes out of Chig Okonkwo’s hands and is caught by Patriots linebacker Jahlani Tavai in the end zone. Okonkwo had to incorporate that, but it wasn’t an optimal placement on Rudolph’s part either.

Drake Maye throws late over the middle and is intercepted by Amani Hooker, who returns the pass to the Patriots 40-yard line. Tennessee has very good field position early in the second quarter.

A sack by Harold Landry on third down forces a long field goal try from Patriots kicker Joey Slye, and the 56-yard field goal attempt is no good. The Titans offense will get good field position with a 7-0 lead.

Good first drive for the Titans offense, started by a third-down run by Mason Rudolph and a 32-yard run by Tony Pollard. Rudolph then found Nick Vannett for a 9-yard touchdown pass. PAT good. Titans 7, Patriots 0.

8 plays, 75 yards in 4:42.

The Titans receive the kickoff, and it’s a touchback. But the Titans’ KR unit is reported as an illegal formation. A tough look considering the attention paid to this unit this week.

John Ojukwu, Nicholas Petit-Frere and Leroy Watson are all active, but Watson appears to be the first-team right tackle in warmups. Daniel Brunskill lines up alongside him at right guard, replacing the inactive Dillon Radunz.

The Titans will be without right guard Dillon Radunz on Sunday against the Patriots. Him and QB Will Levis are among the inactive. Tony Pollard is among the long list of players deemed questionable who will play against New England.

  • LB Cedric Gray

Titans beat reporter Nick Suss’ prediction: Patriots 20, Titans 14

The circumstances are not conducive to points here. The Titans almost certainly have a talent advantage and no one should be shocked if the more talented team wins at home. But until they prove they can play four full quarters without ruining their own chances with self-inflicted mistakes, it’s difficult to predict a Titans victory.

Inactives will be announced Sunday at 10:30 a.m. CT. For now, here is the full injury report for both teams ahead of the game.
