Timothée Chalamet organizes his own lookalike competition in New York; The event ends with the intervention of the police: WATCH

Timothée Chalamet made a surprise appearance at his own lookalike contest in Washington Square Park in Lower Manhattan on Sunday, October 27. This crowded event was, however, quickly dispersed by the police due to the lack of authorization to organize the gathering.

Flanked by bodyguards, the real Chalamet posed for photos with his lookalikes, some of whom were dressed like his characters from the films Wonka and Dune. The star’s arrival at the fan festival was captured and posted to X by several users, with videos showing him greeting fans and posing for photos as he moved through the crowd.

After the New York Police Department arrived at the costume party, NBC reported that at least one person was arrested and several were summoned. In a video captured by the AP, police can be heard sounding their sirens and announcing, “You’re all going to be issued summonses” through a megaphone to encourage the crowd to disperse.

Despite the police presence, the participants still tried to organize the competition. The Chalamet lookalikes took to a makeshift stage to answer questions about their romantic plans with Kylie Jenner and demonstrate their mastery of French. Competition-style questions, such as “What would you do to make the world a better place?” » were also part of the contest, which offered $50 in cash prizes.

Ultimately, the audience chose a winner: Miles Mitchell, a Staten Island resident and senior student. Wearing a purple Willy Wonka outfit, he threw candy from his briefcase to excited fans at the event.

On the professional side, Timothée Chalamet is currently in the Big Apple filming Marty Supreme, an American sports drama by Josh Safdie. The film features Gwyneth Paltrow, Tyler, the Creator, Odessa A’zion, Abel Ferrara, Fran Drescher, Kevin O’Leary and Penn Jillette.
