Live Tiger could be in the stadium for Alabama’s game at LSU

At night, Tiger Stadium is one of the best stages in all of college sports, and things could be even crazier this Saturday night for top-15 Alabama at LSU.

According to a report from LouisianaSports.netLouisiana Gov. Jeff Landry is facilitating the delivery of a live tiger that will be caged and transported to the sidelines of Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge before Saturday’s kickoff.

LSU has a Bengal tiger mascot named Mike VII who lives on the Louisiana State University campus. The school ended the tradition of bringing the live mascot into the stadium in 2015 after the death of the previous mascot, Mike VI.

The university is concerned about the trauma that being caged in front of more than 100,000 noisy fans could cause on a tiger, so it won’t be Mike VII in the stadium according to LouisianaSports.net’s report.

Alabama is 29-10-3 all-time in road games at LSU. The Crimson Tide have won six of their last eight games at Tiger Stadium, but lost the last trip to 2022, 32-31 in overtime.

The No. 11 Crimson Tide and No. 15 Tigers are scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. kickoff on ABC
