Kamala Harris makes surprise appearance on ‘Saturday Night Live’

vice-president Kamala Harris made a surprise appearance on “Saturday Night Live” Saturday night, the show’s final episode before the election. Actor and comedian John Mulaney is the host and Chappell Roan is the musical guest.

Harris’ appearance on the long-running variety series, where she is played by actress Maya Rudolph, brings her to New York, far from the battleground states she visited in the latter part of the campaign. On Saturday, Harris held a rally in Charlotte, North Carolina.

“Maya Rudolph, I mean, she’s so good,” Harris said of her impression on “The View” last month, also praising her “mannerisms.” “She had everything, the suit, the jewelry, everything!”

Jason Miller, a senior adviser to the Trump campaign, said “SNL” had “crushed” her all season and that being on the show was “crazy.”

When asked by reporters if the show had invited Trump to be a guest, he replied, “Probably not. I don’t know.”

A spokesperson for “Saturday Night Live” did not respond to a request for comment on whether Trump was invited to appear.

Presidential candidates from both major parties have made appearances on “SNL” in recent years.

Asset hosted the show in November 2015sparking a demonstration by hundreds of demonstrators who objected to his comments on undocumented immigrants. A month earlier, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made an appearance in the series and impersonated Trump.

Barack Obama too makes an appearance in 2007, while running for the Democratic presidential nomination. The following year, then-Gov. Sarah Palin appeared on the show just weeks before the election as the Republican vice presidential nominee.

“SNL” and NBC News share a parent company, NBCUniversal.
