SAN ANTONIO – Health inspectors found a grocery store with pork in its shopping cart and live cockroaches crawling around a food market during inspections in October 2024.

Supermercado Poco Loco (formerly La Fiesta Market)

Supermercado Poco LocoLocated at 3414 Nogalitos, it was flagged for several different violations during an Oct. 4 inspection.

Investigators found multiple pieces of pork being held unobstructed in a grocery cart.

Raw chicken, sausage and meat were also stored in the same container.

KSAT reporter Daniela Ibarra stopped by the grocery store to speak with an employee who identified herself as a manager. They said they were taking care of the problems.

When we asked what they would say to customers who might be concerned, the manager asked KSAT to speak to another manager.

Metro Health gave the store a score of 86 in its last inspection.

Comeback Burgers

Metro Health found seven violations Comeback Burgers The restaurant, at 11707 Bandera, received 83 points in an October 7 inspection.

The raw burger patties were stored in a cooler that was almost 30 degrees hotter than it should have been. Investigators said employees voluntarily threw away the patties.

When KSAT stopped by, we found that personal drinks were kept in the cold preparation line; this is a violation that inspectors write about in their inspection reports.

Ellison Food Market

A re-examination was ordered. Ellison Food Market 7019 Ray Ellison after Metro Health found six violations on Oct. 4.

According to the report, live and dead cockroaches were found inside the building.

Employees told inspectors that they did not use disinfectant to clean the dishes and that they did not know that they should use a disinfectant such as bleach.

A bag of grated cheese was also kept at 73 degrees for two hours. Inspectors noted that the cheese had to be 41 degrees or lower.
