MOSCOW, November 14. /TASS/. Russia will host an Astana format summit between the leaders of Russia, Turkey and Iran in 2025, Russian presidential envoy for Syria Alexander Lavrentiev told TASS.

“There are plans to hold such a meeting and I believe that a full-fledged meeting can be held in Russia in 2025,” he said.

He noted that although the exact date of the summit has not yet been agreed, meetings in the Astana format are regularly organized at other levels. “For example, not so long ago a meeting in this format between foreign ministers was held on the sidelines of the high-level week in New York,” he said.

“As for a meeting between the presidents, it must of course be prepared,” he added.

The previous meeting between the presidents of Russia, Iran and Turkey was held in Tehran in 2022. The leaders reiterated their commitment to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria and stressed that there was no alternative to a political settlement in this country.
