Cardi B ‘wasn’t going to vote this year’ until Kamala Harris weighed in: ‘She completely changed her mind’

In an impassioned speech Friday night at a rally in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Cardi B admitted that she plans to sit out this election — until Kamala Harris becomes the Democratic nominee.

“She completely changed her mind,” the “Bodak Yellow” star said. “I didn’t trust any candidate until she joined the race and said the things that I wanted to hear, that I want to see next in this country.”

Cardi B fans of course know that she’s something of a crazy person and a history buff. See also his 2023 appearance on “Hot Ones” when she abandoned science on Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Eleanor Roosevelt, and the New Deal. And in her speech, she laid out Harris’ arguments with a combination of policy detail and emotional appeal.

“She is passionate, compassionate, empathetic and most importantly, she is not a loser. No, yeah, yeah. Kamala recognized that this country is in danger, that the economy needs to strengthen, that the cost of food and the cost of living are too high,” she said.

“I believe her when she sticks to her finances, and milk won’t break the bank because she’s going to pass a price gouging ban on groceries. And she told me to my face, so she better not lie to my face, right? she joked.

“I believe her when she says she will make housing more affordable by providing Americans with $25,000 in down payment assistance,” she continued as she excited the crowd. “She promises a lot, and I believe her when she says she will give a tax cut to 100 million middle-class Americans. That’s a lot of Americans, and it includes $6,000 for parents during the child’s first year of life. Remember when they did that? Do you all remember when this country did this?

Then she turned to Trump, reminding the crowd of his recent threat to “protect” women “whether they like it or not.”

“Protecting women, especially maternal and mental health care, is not about telling them what to do with their bodies, but about supporting them and providing them with the care they need for what they choose to do of their body’” says Cardi.
