The Kings beat the Predators 3-0 thanks to Darcy Kuemper’s shutout

THE Nashville Predators lost 3-0 against Los Angeles Kings Monday, falling to 4-7-1 and losing its sixth home game this season.

The Predators were unable to counter Kings goaltender Darcy Kuemper, who made 16 saves to earn his fourth victory of the season and his first shutout.

Anze Kopitar’s first-period goal, an impressive effort where he pushed the puck behind the pads of goaltender Juuse Saros, put the Kings up 1-0. Then, Kevin Fiala added a goal early in the third period to give the Kings a 2-0 lead and Adrian Kempe added an empty-net goal to seal the game.

Nashville goaltender Juuse Saros finished with 24 saves in the loss. The Predators’ power play, which had improved, went 0 for 4 in the game.

Nashville will then go on the road to face the Washington Capitals and Florida Panthers in back-to-back games Wednesday and Thursday. Los Angeles (7-3-3) faces Minnesota on Tuesday night.

Former Predators forward Kevin Fiala gives Kings 2-0 lead in third period

While the Predators have failed to generate much offense in the game thus far, Kings forward Kevin Fiala made an even tougher comeback early in the third, scoring to make it 2- 0 in Los Angeles.

Fiala scored on a rebound past Juuse Saros for his sixth goal of the season.

Luke Schenn and Tanner Jeannot drop their gloves, Schenn wins the fight

At 6:36 of the second period, the Bridgestone Arena crowd was treated to a heavyweight duel between Luke Schenn and former Predators forward Tanner Jeannot.

With Schenn landing several punches directly on Jeannot, give him the victory in the fight.

Kings lead Predators 1-0 on Anze Kopitar’s shot against Juuse Saros

The first half of the first period was uneventful – the Predators had a power play chance that went nowhere – but then, at 13:24 of the period, Anze Kopitar made it 1 -0 to the Kings.

After his initial shot was stopped on the pad of Juuse Saros, he collected the puck behind the Nashville net and placed it on the pad of Saros to score.
