Aurora police will soon begin automatically impounding these vehicles

DENVER (KDVR) — The Aurora Police Department recently announced that starting the week of Monday, Nov. 25, it will increase its traffic enforcement efforts and automatically impound the vehicles of drivers who meet certain criteria.

According to APD, anyone found speeding, driving aggressively or driving with registration violations will be cited.

Vehicles will be automatically impounded if the driver does not have a driver’s license, does not have insurance and has registration violations.

The operation will not be short-lived, according to the police.

The neighboring Denver Police Department has conducted several short-term operations based on registration violations and is currently in the midst of a month-long operation which began on November 2.

In the announcement, APD noted that fatal traffic incidents increase during the holiday season and asked people to drive with caution and respect.
