Dave Portnoy exposes Zach Bryan for alleged planned UFC shoutout

Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek’s contributor network

Turns out Dave Portnoy isn’t done talking about Zach Bryan yet.

On Wednesday, November 20, the founder of Barstool Sports visited TikTok to respond to a reported incident at UFC 309 on Saturday, November 16, where Bryan’s name was mentioned during a post-fight interview – an interview that his ex-girlfriend Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia was there. Portnoy, 47, didn’t hold back, calling the 28-year-old singer a “little, pathetic little man” after hearing the mention.

The incident in question occurred when UFC fighter David Onama, who had just won his match, yelled at Bryan during his in-ring interview with Joe Rogan. In the interview, Onama, 30, said: “I want to come back here next month to see, what’s it called, Zach Bryan in concert.”

Portnoy explained in the video that Bryan’s team had previously asked the victorious fighter questions about the “Pink Skies” singer – something Onama admitted to another podcaster. He then goes on to share a clip from the confession, where Onama reveals, “His manager, his team, reached out to my team asking for a shout out,” referring to Bryan’s promotional team, calling it a “strange” situation “.

Portnoy, visibly irritated in the video, further criticized Bryan for allegedly paying for the endorsement. “We know you’re famous around the world, Zach, but you don’t need to bribe people to say your name. You’re a pathetic little man,” Portnoy said in his speech, apparently making reference to his track of dissent released a few weeks ago called “Smallest Man”. He added: “Everyone knows you’re a f***ing loser.”

The people in the CEO’s video commentary mostly seem to agree. “He literally said ‘what’s his name, Zach Bryan’ ,” one fan noted. Another said, “Receipts go to EATTTTTT every time,” referring to Portnoy’s fact-checking. A third commented: “This must be humbling for Zach and I love it.”

During the fight, LaPaglia, 25, was seen giving a thumbs up to Bryan’s song “Something in the Orange” during its broadcast at the event. THE Best friends The podcast host – who is Portnoy’s colleague – has since accused Bryan of emotional abuse and revealed he asked her to sign a $12 million non-disclosure agreement to keep quiet about their relationship.
