BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – A special guest made an appearance Friday at a Bryan church.

The Unitarian Universalist Church of the Brazos Valley held a banned book giveaway and dance party.

Daniel Handler, also known by his writing pseudonym “Lemony Snicket,” came to see Bryan for the event.

Handler is best known for his children’s book series A series of unfortunate events And All the wrong questions.

“WWe give away free books that have been banned in America throughout history to make the case that everything should be on the shelves, that all books should be welcome, and that people should read what they want and believe what they want. they want,” Handler said. .

People were invited to come out for tacos, drinks, free banned books and dancing.
