India among fastest growing markets for Microsoft Copilot

Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman said India is one of the Co-pilotthe fastest growing markets. The country also has one of its strongest research and development teams in the world, he noted.

“We have extremely talented engineers and developers, and we are increasingly tapping social scientists, psychologists, therapists, screenwriters and other creatives. This diversity allows us to synthesize more perspectives and get a broader picture of the people involved in the design and creation process,” he said at the Microsoft Building AI Companions for India event in Bangalore.

Microsoft’s refreshed Copilot, launched last month, gives users the ability to speak with Copilots in real time, evolving human-machine interaction to a whole new paradigm. Meanwhile, Copilot Daily was launched in October in certain countries. Suleyman highlighted Microsoft’s mission to create an AI companion for everyone.

S Krishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, said that India AI mission launched by the government in March aims to giving everyone access to AI computing. One of the priority areas of the mission is skills, which the government sees as a real opportunity to drive an AI revolution not only in India but across the world.

From sales to customer service, Microsoft said Copilot impacts functions across businesses. “We now have evidence at scale,” said Puneet Chandok, president of Microsoft India and South Asia. “AI has moved out of the lab and is driving productivity, impacting lives and livelihoods. »

Chandok also highlighted that entire industries are being reinvented through generative AI, including large IT companies leveraging Copilot to streamline software development, transform customer experience and employee reskilling.
