The best way to overcome the “big lie” is to rely on a bigger truth! This is why supporters of Kamala Harris and Tim Walz should set themselves an ambitious goal: obtaining 100 million votes on November 5, 2024.

That’s 19 million more votes than Joe Biden received in 2020. Only 66% of eligible voters turned out in this contested election. Even with overwhelming evidence that no fraud occurred in the vote counting and after more than 60 legal challenges, former US President Donald Trump stubbornly clung to the lie that the election was stolen from him. And although it was clear that he knew he had lost, the proximity of the count in a number of battleground states allowed him to convince his supporters that he had indeed won the election.

Therefore, this time around, Trump is expected to be defeated by such an overwhelming number of votes cast that there will be little room for plausible debate about who won the election. Governing with a divided and distrustful electorate undermines the legitimate authority of candidates who win free and fair elections. So what are the compelling arguments for a Harris/Walz candidacy?

Well, for starters, let’s start with Harris’ proposed economic plan. Even the business world is lining up behind his plans to strengthen the American economy. In a recent Wall Street Journal (conducted October 4-8), 68% of respondents said they believed inflation would increase under a second Trump term compared to a Harris plan.
