Peter and Christina Edwards to release solo albums in Ontario

Peter Edwards.

Former Digicel Rising Stars contestant turned gospel artist Peter Edwards and his wife Christina will launch their solo albums on Saturday, November 16 at an event called Double Impact: 2 Albums in one night, at the Miracle Arena For All Nations on Weston Road , Woodbridge, Ontario.

Peter’s album, titled Saintis her second project, while Christina’s album, It’s Jesus, is his first project.

“This album launch is aimed at the younger generation and those who don’t know Christ, that’s why I have eight rappers performing at the concert, as well as dancers and singers. It will be an unforgettable evening and I hope to have at least 800 people in attendance,” Peter told the Jamaica Observer Friday.

The couple, who married in Jamaica, have resided in Canada for 13 years.

Asked what led to their decision to launch both albums at the same event, Peter replied: “We are a couple, but separate artists. We both had our albums ready at the same time. And this is the season when we usually do a concert. So, instead of doing two separate concerts, why not release two albums in one evening? People are asking us and waiting for us to release new music.

Saint has 10 tracks. Peter said he wrote and produced all the songs on his project, while sharing co-writing credits on his wife’s album.

His first album, Bold as a lion, was physically released in 2022; however, the new album will also be available on streaming platforms.

Sainttracks include God will confound your enemy, no one can compare to Jesus, prayer, more than this (with Christine), All I want is you, my heart is for you, And I am a chosen vessel.

On Monday October 28, Edwards will release the non-album single Prayer.

Christina’s album contains the title track as well as Yahweh Amen, Chosen Vessel, Your Presence, More than That, When the Saints go to worship, And Praise the Lord.

Peter was a member of the group Q, which participated in the 2005 edition of Digicel Rising Stars. The group made it into the top 10.

Later he gave his life to Christ. It was at church that he met his wife.

“We both grew up in the church, but I turned to secular music and then came back to faith. I started pursuing a career in gospel music in 2014, but I got the courage after meeting my pastor, Dr. Prophet Kofi Danso, and Dr. Joanna Danso. They both encouraged me to do it,” said Peter, who is originally from Kitson Town in St Catherine.

Christina is originally from Green Acres in Spanish Town, St Catherine.
