MOBILE, AlabamaWALA) – A federal judge recently sentenced a Mobile man to nearly six and a half years in prison for trafficking fentanyl and assaulting a federal law enforcement officer, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Alabama.

On October 29, United States District Court Judge William H. Steele imposed a 77-month sentence on a 27-year-old man. Christopher Teague on both charges.

He pleaded guilty to the charges.

Court documents revealed that from approximately July to December 2023, Teague conspired with others to distribute fentanyl throughout the Mobile area. While attempting to flee law enforcement, Teague crashed his vehicle head-on into an FBI vehicle containing two special agents and a task force officer.

After his prison sentence, Teague will be placed on supervised release for five years.
