Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes said Tuesday morning that no major problems had been reported in the first few hours after polls opened for the day.

Here are some of the issues voters have alerted us to so far Tuesday:

Apache County

Some voters in Apache County reported problems due to machine failures, leading to a statement from Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren.

Affected and turned away voters should request a provisional ballot or call local election officials, according to Chairman Nygren.

The Navajo Nation President’s Office tells ABC15 the Navajo Nation is working with ASU’s Native Vote to attempt to file an extension request before 3 p.m.

ABC15’s Rachel Louise just spoke with Navajo neighbors who are lighting fires outside polling places and bringing blankets to make sure others can stay warm while waiting in line to vote in Apache County.

Mohave County

Two Mohave County voters in Lake Havasu and Bullhead City contacted ABC15 to say, “The voting machines in Mohave County are ALL broken” and “I can’t vote in Mohave County due to a ” computer problem.

ABC15 spoke with the Mohave County Registrar of Voters Office and the Mohave County Elections Director’s Office, who said some polling places were initially experiencing temporary issues, but as of 7 p.m. morning, all offices seemed to be functioning properly.

One constituent continued to report ongoing issues at her home, but Secretary Fontes said the known issue in Mohave County, believed to be due to a power outage, has been resolved.

Maricopa County

A Valley voter wrote to us on Facebook Tuesday morning saying voting issues were reported at the voting site at Aire Libre Elementary School, near Cave Creek and Bell roads, after 6 a.m.

ABC15 was able to confirm that a poll worker locked himself out of the building, which sparked the issue. An election official told us the issue was being resolved around 7 a.m.

Secretary of State Fontes said during a morning news conference that minor issues like these sometimes arise and voters should be patient because issues can often be resolved quickly, or go to another location voting.

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on November 5 and you must bring a valid ID.

Check out our complete voter guide with everything you need to know while you’re at the polling center.

All ballots must be received no later than 7 p.m. on November 5.
