Grieving uncle mourns loss of four lives in devastating fire

There has been so much heartbreak following tragic house fire which left four family members dead on Thursday.

A father, his two daughters and the man’s adult brother were all killed.

The children’s mother and brother were injured when they escaped and jumped from a third-story window.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.

“We had it bad, bad, bad,” says the family’s uncle, Toquabo Woldegebriel.

Woldegebriel knows it’s a question that may never be answered.

“We lost two children, four lives at the same time,” Woldegebriel said.

An early morning house fire led to such misery.

Woldegebriel: says, “We’ve never seen anything like this. What can you do? I’m sorry this happened to us.”

Now it’s up to Clark County Fire Investigators and ATF agents to piece together what happened.

A wooden frame inside the garage supported the entire structure after the top two floors collapsed, leaving a pile of debris to inspect.

Himanshu Radnani, a neighbor of the family, said: “We used to take a walk with my toddler, we would see them playing basketball on the street. We would say hello to them and see them coming and going.”

There was shock throughout the neighborhood.

Sandra Palomo left a candle and a bouquet for the victims and said: “People care, people care.”

She said: “I lost my parents in a house fire, the best parents in the world, so I feel for the world, so I feel for this family and I had to come and say my prayers for them. “

Jennifer Landrum lives in the neighborhood and took video from the back of the house.

She said: “I heard a deadly sound, like screaming, then I heard help. As soon as I heard help, I heard an explosion, then I heard the glass collapse.”

When Landrum heard screaming, she then went around the block knocking on doors to warn neighbors.

The Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation is collecting donations for the family through November 24.
