North Korea can carry out a intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) as early as November, following the deployment of a mobile launcher, South Korean officials warned on Wednesday.

Citing military intelligence information, South Korean lawmakers revealed that North Korea appears ready to test ballistic missiles, also known as ICBMand its atmospheric re-entry capabilities.

During a briefing, MP Lee Seong-kweun revealed that a mobile launcher had been positioned at a possible test site, with the timing believed to coincide with the WE presidential election on November 5, Reuters reported.

Another lawmaker, Park Sun-won, said that although the launcher is in place, the defense intelligence agency does not believe a missile has yet been loaded into it.

South Korean defense officials have suggested that North Korea could take advantage of this period of heightened global attention to conduct either a long-range missile test, or potentially its seventh nuclear test, to highlight its capabilities advanced strategies.
