THE Night agent viewers are ready to answer the call.

THE action thriller from Sony Pictures TV and Shawn Ryan became a success for Netflix when it is released in March 2023. Now, fans of the Gabriel BassoThe agency-led spy series finally finds out when the series will return.

Season two will be released on January 23, 2025, a little later than Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos. I predicted the show would come back. The news comes with a teaser (below) showing Peter Sutherland (Basso) back on the run and calling the top secret White House number he was originally on the receiving end of.

Based on the novel by Matthew Quirk, The night agent season one focused on Peter, then a low-level FBI agent, whose efforts to save the president now earn him the opportunity to become a night-shift agent in season two. But working in the secret organization Night Action will propel Peter into a world where danger is everywhere and trust is rare.

From its first month of release, the first season of Night agent reign as No. 1 in the World Top 10 for four consecutive weeks. He became the second most-watched original streaming series in the United States in 2023 and currently ranks seventh all-time among English-language series in the streamer’s internal rankings (which measures viewership for 13 weeks after a show’s premiere).

The show won a quick season two renewal days after its release, followed by a season three pickup this was announced last month; production will begin in late 2024 in Istanbul and continue in New York after the new year. (The delay in the series’ return is due to the two Hollywood strikes of 2023.)

By speaking to THR on why he wanted to adapt The night agent, creator/showrunner/executive producer Ryan said“I love the idea of an underdog. I love watching awesome stuff as much as anyone. But for me, it’s not as interesting to write the indestructible guy, the John Wicks of the world, the Jason Bournes who can take on 20 people at once. I like the idea of an outsider, someone who is the least important person in a very important place, in this case, a junior FBI agent who works in a windowless room in the basement of the House White. Everyone around him is more important than him. He comes across this thing and suddenly finds himself, like in the classic Hitchcock films, someone who is an ordinary person thrust into an extraordinary situation.

The second season is produced by Ryan and Marney Hochman with MiddKid Productions; Seth Gordon and Julia Gunn with Exhibit A; Jamie Vanderbilt, William Sherak, Paul Neinstein and Nicole Tossou with Project X; David Beaubaire with Sunset Lane Media; and Paul Bernard, Munis Rashid and Guy Ferland.
