Lawrence County man arrested after NCMEC CyberTip

LAWRENCE CO., Tenn. (WSMV) – A Lawrence County man has been arrested following a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) began investigating after receiving a CyberTip on November 4 indicating that an account had shared child sexual abuse material.

A search warrant was obtained and executed at a residence in Summertown. This search produced a mobile phone containing child sexual abuse material.

Further investigation showed that Stephen Dyer, 28, owned the phone and account.

Dyer was arrested Nov. 5 by TBI ICAC agents as well as special agents from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and the TBI Criminal Investigation Division.

He was charged with one count of child exploitation and was booked into the Lawrence County Jail. He is being held there without bail.
