Why does this man hate the Jeep Grand Wagoneer?

A man shared diagnostic results on a car he was working on: a 2024 Jeep Grand Wagoneer with less than 10,000 miles with virtually every problem in the book.

Like many others, Mike Lee (@mikelee890311) is not a fan of Jeep cars. In a viral post that received 123,900 views, he shared his disdain for the Grand Wagoneer.

Error codes galore

The video begins with a shot of the car’s dashboard while Adam Sandler’s “Ode to My Car” plays in the background. Lee presumably uses this particular song to emphasize his thoughts on the Grand Wagoneer.

The auto technician holds his camera in front of the odometer on the car dashboard. It says it only has 9,796 miles. Next, it turns to a monitor panel, which is presumably connected to a diagnostic tool.

It says “DCT: 173”, which means the car’s transmission is not working properly. All this before traveling 10,000 miles.

Additionally, Lee reveals a host of other error codes on the diagnostic screen. Various acronyms accompanied by numbers indicate a multitude of potential problems with the car.

More complaints about the Grand Wagoneer

Several customers this Jeep Grand Wagoneer forum have reported problems with the transmission on their new cars.

One said: “I noticed our Wagoneer was revving but not increasing. When I pressed the accelerator a little harder, it became clear that the (transmission) was not shifting. »

The same user went on to say that they fixed the problem by turning the engine off and on again. However, they were still concerned about the quality of the new 2024 Wagoneer.

The Daily Dot reported another mechanic who also issued a warning to TikTokers about the Grand Wagoneer. He explained that an owner of a brand-new Jeep Wagoneer worth $100,000 needed extensive work in his shop when the car still had fewer than 8,000 miles on it.

Grand Wagoneer recalls

THE Kelley Blue Book reports that some 97,000 Grand Wagoneer vehicles manufactured between 2022 and 2024 are subject to recalls. The reason for the recall is that the cars “may have been built with inaccessible or damaged third-row seat belt buckles.”

Chrysler Factory Warranty lists other recalls for the Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Two were issued in August 2023. The first concerns the car’s side curtain airbag. Due to the construction of the car’s upper center pillar interior trim, full deployment of the side airbag may encounter interference.

The second concerns the 2022-2023 Grand Wagoneer’s Central Vision parking assist module, which “can prevent the rear view image from displaying when the vehicle is placed in reverse.”

TikTokers trashed the Wagoneer

Several commenters joined Lee in warning potential Jeep Grand Wagoneer buyers to stay away.

“Worth a total of $110,000,” read one sarcastic comment.

“No one bothers to do even 20 minutes of research before buying these things,” asked another, referring to the many articles complaining about Jeep’s shoddy cars.

One person came up with a clever acronym for the brand name: “Expect every problem!” Jeep!”

This sentiment was echoed by another user, who said: “I’ve never had anything but problems with Jeeps. The one car I categorically refuse to buy again.

One commenter said even Jeep salesmen told them to stay away from the Grand Wagoneer.

“Yes, the jeep dealer told us to buy literally anything else,” they claimed.

The Daily Dot reached out to Jeep via email and Lee via a TikTok comment for more information.
